The study investigated the mediating effects of resilience in the relationship of perfectionism and depression of adolescents. In order to consider a scheme which could be helpful for young people who have depression issues caused by their perfectionism, the study examined the effect of the parameters of resilience in relation to depression and a sense of adaptive/maladaptive perfectionism. A total of 338 middle and high school students from six schools located in Seoul and Incheon participated in the study. Questionnaires including multidimensional perfectionism, a sense of depression, and resilience were implemented by participants. The correlation analysis finds no significant correlation between the resilience and perfectionism. And depression shows a significantly correlated with perfectionism. In addition, perfectionism and depression are significantly correlated. Resilience and depression also shows significant negative correlation. As a result, the study finds the effect of the parameters of the Resilience related to depression and a sense of perfectionism. The mediating effect of resilience for perfectionism which affects depression was also found. Finally, possible limitations of this study were also discussed.
