This study aimed the development of career education program for the elementary
school special education students in inclusive classrooms. For this purpose, the
awareness and the demands about career education of 76 elementary school teachers
were examined. And the factors related occupations in elementary school curriculum,
and the domains and the aims of career education for elementary school special
education students in inclusive classrooms were analyzed. On the basis of these
results, the career education program for the elementary school special education
students in inclusive classrooms was developed. This program focused on the
experiences and the activities, and so it is practical, realistic, and suitable for the
developmental levels and interests of elementary school special education students.
The program consists of 4 domains and 10 time-plans. The respective time-plans have
3 activities. So the teachers have the flexible choices of time and activities and more
effects of career education are expected.
