Municipal solid waste (MSW) has increased significantly in the industrialized and developing countries raising the question of its sustainable disposal management. The consciousness of protecting the clean environment has developed various ideas for MSW management. Gasification is a thermal process that converts a combustible material or waste into gas through partial oxidation at elevated temperature. It is one of the promising technologies which still need to be explored to make it economically feasible. The aim of this paper is to develop the computational fluid dynamic (CFD) method for fixed-bed waste gasifier. This work was performed by using the commercial CFD code ANSYS FLUENT which was used to solve the steady state, three dimensional, fully viscous Navier Stokes equations. And the finite rate reaction model based on Arrhenius equation was used in CFD analysis for gasification reactions of fixed-bed waste gasifier.
