Many Korean families are confronted by a variety of crises including collapse of traditional values, domestic violence, insufficient child care surrounding dual income, child neglect and abuse, alcoholic addiction, and other kinds of addiction problems. There are also many other families who struggle with issues surrounding single-parent families, remarried families, multicultural family, and family dissolution due to economic problems; however, there are a relatively very small number of families who seek family counseling services at a local counseling center. For the family who needs counseling services but is unwilling or unable to visit a local family counseling center, professional visit-home family counseling services were suggested as an alternative. The visit-home family counseling services are similar to youth partner programs in that counselors visit home. They are a preventative form of services to provide help to a family in need in advance to prevent the collapse and dissolution of the family. Successful cases of the visit-home family counseling services were presented to illustrate how families in a dead zone came out of the prison and dark tunnel and walked into lights. The necessity and practical suggestions of visit-home family counseling were discussed.
