Elementary schools today face problems of instrumentalization, functionalization and dehumanization in
education. For solving these problems, restoring the educational tasks of elementary schools seems to be
very important. In order to implement educational tasks of elementary schools, the integration of
instruction and education is required.
In this respect, this study aimed to investigate the possibility of implementing 'educational instruction'
as 'action-oriented instruction' in elementary schools. The contents of this study are summarized as follows.
First, the importance of the integration of instruction and education in elementary schools is examined.
Secondly, the possibility of implementing 'educational instruction' as 'action-oriented instruction' in
elementary schools was explored. And then, the practices of 'action-oriented instruction' in Freinet School
and Jenaplan School were introduced. Finally, several ideas for realizing 'educational instruction' as
'action-oriented instruction' in elementary schools were suggested.
