This study examined the group musical activities effect on self-esteem and stress of the maladjusted
elementary school children. The research groups were consist of 28 maladjusted children and 14 adjusted
children among year 5 at D elemantary school in Seosan City and arranged 14 students in the
experimental group. 12 times group musical activities, those are selected from group musical activities
program(Park Yoen Hee, 2007, Eo You Ran, 2008, Shin Eun Yong, 2009) and re-organized by researcher,
were performed in the experimental group and non activities were performed in the control groups. To
compare two research group, ANCOVA(Analysis of covariance) was used in SPSS 18.0 Program. The
research results are First, the group musicl activities influenced considerably for self-esteem improvement
og maladjusted children in elementary school(F=8.447, p<.01). Second, the experimental group, performed
group musical activities, was statistically influenced in stress decrease compare to control group(F=8.318,
p<.01). By these result, it is found that group musical activities affect on self-esteem improvement and
stress decrease of maladjusted elementary school children.
