본 연구의 목적은 농촌노인의 성․연령․가구형태별 가족․ 경제․건강․영농․여가․주거 등 생활실태 및 복지욕구를 파악하 여, 농촌노인을 위한 지도사업 및 복지정책 개발의 기초 자료를 제 공하는 것이었다. 이를 위하여 우리나라 노인의 생활실태에 대한 선 행연구에 기초하여, 농촌노인의 생활실태영역을 가족, 경제, 건강, 영 농 및 노동, 여가 및 교육, 주거, 노후, 정서, 복지욕구 등 총 9개 영 역으로 분류하여 설문지를 구성한 다음, 제주도를 제외한 전국 읍․ 면 지역에 거주하는 노인 548명을 대상으로 면접 조사를 실시하였 다. 농촌노인의 연령․성․가구유형별 생활실태를 비교하기 위하여 t검증, 교차분석, 분산분석 등을 실시하였고, 그 결과 경제, 건강, 영 농 및 노동생활, 노후생활, 복지욕구 등 대부분의 생활실태 영역에서 노인의 특성에 따라 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 유사 한 환경에서 살고 있는 농촌노인이라 하더라도 연령, 성, 가구형태 등 농촌노인의 특성에 따라 복지에 대한 욕구가 다양하기 때문에 노 인의 특성에 따라 차별적인 지도사업 및 정책 접근이 필요함을 시 사한다
The purpose of this study was to examine the living conditions by the characteristics of the rural elderly in Korea. Based on previous studies related with the elderly, living conditions were classified into 9 areas: family life, economic life, health life, farm and work life, leisure and education life, housing life, later life, emotional life, and welfare needs. Data were collected from 548 elderly aged 60 and over living in rural areas nationwide through structured questionnaires. The results showed that the majority of living conditions for the rural elderly were significantly different by the sex, age, and living arrangements of the elderly. The major findings were discussed in the context of developing various services and making a welfare policy for rural elderly.
