The purpose of this study was to inquire how teachers improved instruction and
developed their professionalism through teacher community at an Innovative elementary
school. The author interviewed four teachers of Hangbok school as the Innovative school.
The main results were as follows: Hangbok school teachers improved instruction, developed
teachers' professionalism, and changed school culture through teacher community; the school
did not have the teachers get any school management tasks for them to concentrate only on
instruction improvement; teachers reflected on and improved their instruction through
teacher community; they changed the point of view of students and considered their holistic
development much more; the teachers stimulated their students' sensitivities in lessons and
made the students learn by experiential activities. In addition, the teachers reflected on and
adapted Waldorf education approach to improve their instruction and develop their
professionalism.
