여성에게 있어 결혼과 출산, 육아는 생애 전체에서 중요한 전환점이 된다. 본 연구는 미 취학 자녀를 양육하는 여성을 이해하고, 특히 전업주부 여성들의 자조모임 참여를 통한 변화경험에 대해서 심층적으로 이해하는 것에 목적이 있다. 본 연구는 서울시 소재 A종 합사회복지관의 전업맘 자조모임을 1년 이상 경험한 미취학 자녀를 양육하는 여성 6명 을 대상으로 자료를 수집하였다. 이 연구는 ‘나를 찾아가는 여정, 혼자가 아닌 우리, 넓 어진 세상’ 3가지 범주로 구분한 뒤 하위범주로 나누어서 분석하였다. 연구결과로 여성 개인의 성장과 변화, 사회적 지지망의 확장, 지역사회 참여욕구의 증가 등을 살펴볼 수 있었다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 미취학 자녀를 양육하는 여성들을 지원하고 자조 모임을 활성화하기 위한 사회복지실천적 함의를 제언하였다.
For women, marriage, childbearing, and child-rearing are important turning points in their lives. This research was conducted in order to understand women who raise preschool children and their changing experience through participation of self-help group. Participants of this study were 6 women who raise preschool children, and all women have participated in ‘Housewives Self-Help Group’ (전업맘 자 조모임) of A community welfare center in Seoul more than one year. The result is divided into three categories, ‘A journey to find myself (나를 찾아가는 여정)’, ‘Not alone but together(혼자가 아닌 우리)’, ‘Widened world(넓어진 세상)’, and these categories are divided into subcategories and analyzed. The results of the research are as follow s：Participants show women’s personal growth and changes, expansion of social support, and increased desire for participation in community. Based on the results of this research, the implications for social welfare practice were discussed to support women who raise preschool children and activate women’s self-help group.
