This study is to learn the location of Dokdo as a territory education in elementary education, learn
awareness of elementary school students about Japan and to view Dokdo the appearance of Dokdo
education as a future-oriented project with the Japanese. For this, lesson plan of Dokdo territories relevant
educational content presented in elementary social studies, to reconstruct The history of facing Korea and
Japan Part Ⅲ modern history textbooks and Dokdo aids were designed. The results of this study, first,
Students became aware of the issues associated with the current recognized Dokdo and became aware of
the future challenges to be solved with Japan. Second, Students became aware of Dokdo as the
geographical, historical and social importance of education for our territory. Third, it was an opportunity
for understanding the claim of Japan as neighbor state, and that gave them a chances that analyze
carefully review their claims. and that was a big opportunity to establish our position against these things
that are to explore the meaning contained in the unjust claims of Japan. Fourth, the students became
aware of the Dokdo issue in a more objective view. Fifth, I have received deep concerns about the
direction of Dokdo education. Finally I was able to recognize the direction and configuration of the
textbook descriptions of Dokdo education considering the achievement standard of the 2015 Revised
Elementary Social Studies Curriculum.
