부부갈등가족에서 부모자녀친밀유형에 따른 청소년자녀의 불안의 차이

본 연구는 부부가 서로 갈등 중인 가족에서 부모자녀의 친밀유형에 따른 청소년자녀의 불안에 차 이가 있는지를 Bowen의 삼각관계 이론 등 가족치료의 주요 이론적 관점에서 검증하였다. 한국청소년 패널조사의 조사대상인 전국의 중학교 3학생 학생 중 부모님이 부부갈등을 겪고 있는 398명(남자청소 년 230명, 여자청소년 168명)을 추출하였다. 본 연구는 가족치료의 주요 이론적 관점에서 부모자녀친 밀유형을 부모비(非)친밀, 한부모친밀, 양부모친밀 유형들로 구분한 후, 성별을 통제하고 각 집단 간 불안에 차이가 있는지를 공변량분석(analysis of covariance; ANCOVA)을 사용해 검증하였다. 양부모친밀 유형과 부모비친밀유형의 청소년자녀의 불안에는 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 즉, 부모 모두 와 친밀한 청소년의 불안이 부모 모두와 친밀하지 않은 청소년보다 높았다. 부부가 갈등 중인 가족에 서 청소년자녀의 불안과 관련하여 가장 주목해야 하는 친밀유형은 자녀가 부모 모두와 친밀한 관계를 맺고 있는 유형이다. 따라서 가족치료사는 부부갈등가족을 상담할 때 부모자녀간의 친밀한 관계가 가 질 수 있는 장단점을 충분히 고려하며 상담을 진행할 필요가 있다.

영문초록

Objectives: This study used Bowen family systems theory and a strength-based approach to conceptualize differences in adolescent anxiety in families with marital conflict. Methods: Using nationally representative data from the Korean Youth Panel Survey, the researcher analyzed information from 398 adolescents (230 males and 168 females) who reported conflict between their parents. An analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) was used to examine the differences in the anxiety of parent-child closeness types, controlling for gender. Results: There was a significant difference in the level of anxiety between adolescents in the close-to-both-parents type group and those in the close-to-neither-parent type group. Adolescents who were close to both parents reported a significantly higher level of anxiety than those who were close to neither of their parents. Conclusions: Family therapists should carefully consider the adjustment of adolescents in therapy who are close to both parents in marital discord.
