The purpose of this study is to grasp the response characteristics for
mother-and-child drawings(MACD) to adolescents’ level of emotional
behavior and examine the usefulness of MACD as a drawing test tool. 301
second-year students of five middle schools located in P city, Gyeonggi-do,
were selected as study subjects. In order to examine the two factors for
K-YRS, internalization and externalization problematic behaviors, over 60T
and below 40T were assigned to a high group and a low group, respectively,
and then MACD were analyzed. The subjects were classified in two groups
depending on their level of emotional behavior. Differences of reaction
characteristics from the drawings were checked by crossover analysis. The
study results can be summarized as follows based on its purpose. First,
facial expression, body contact, and eye contact were significantly different
among drawing analysis indexes for MACD according to the internalization
problem. Second, age, objects of familiarity, and things in mind were
significantly different among PDI indexes for MACD according to the
internalization problem. Third, facial expression and body contact were
significantly different among drawing analysis indexes for MACD according
to the externalization problem. Fourth, age, objects of familiarity, and things
in mind were significantly different among PDI indexes for MACD according
to the externalization problem. In conclusion, it can be judged that MACD
have a possibility to be used as a drawing test tool to grasp the level of
adolescents’ emotional behavior.
