이 연구는 청각장애학생 음악과 교육의 필요성과 청각장애 특수학교 음아교육과정 운영에서 나타나 는 가창과 악기 연주를 위한 지도방법에 대해 알아보고, 청각장애학생을 위한 음악과 교수․학습 자 료 개발의 바람직한 방향으로 발전시키는데 목적으로 연구하였다. 이 연구에서는 음악과 교수․학습 자료 개발의 바람직한 방향에 대한 교사의 인식을 조사하기 위하여 청각장애 학교 음악교과를 담당 하고 있는 초등교사 4명을 대상으로 심층 면담을 통해 자료를 수집 후 질적 분석 방법을 사용하여 자료를 분석하였다. 청각장애학교 교사는 첫째, 청각장애학생의 음악교육에 긍정적으로 인식하고 언 어, 인지, 정서, 사회성 등의 다양한 능력의 발달에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다고 인식한다. 둘째, 가창 및 악기수업 운영 시 어려움을 가지지만 대안적인 방안을 통하여 음악교육을 실시하는 것이 필요하 다고 인식한다. 셋째, 청각장애학생의 청력손실의 정도와 수준에 따라 다양한 교수․학습자료를 사 용하지만 다양하고 실용적인 교수․학습 자료 개발의 질적이고 양적인 확충이 필요함을 시사하고 있다.
The purpose of this study was to illustrate the management and development of teaching and learning materials in music subject for hearing impaired students. This study was performed by qualitative research. Semi-structure questionnaire was developed by researcher. Four teachers who were working for hearing impaired students in special schools. The teachers had teaching experiences at least 8 years to 28 years. The results of this study were that: (a) the teachers perceived that the music subject was very important subject to hearing impaired students. The teachers had taught song, instrument, listening, and socialization in the field of music; (b) the teachers recognized that the song and instrument were difficult, so the teachers switched the song and instrument to alternative method such as sign language and captioned film; and (c) the teachers taught the music based on the type and degree of hearing impairment, and develop the teaching and learning materials in the real life environment to hearing impaired students. Therefore this study concluded that the music subject was useful for hearing impaired students, therefore the teachers were endeavored to teach the music various methods to hearing impaired students.
