Purspose: This study was conducted in order to investigate the effect of self-control and parents' psychological control
on smart phone addiction. Method: The participants were 283 girls' high school students gathered through convenience
sample method. Data were collected from December, 3 to 12, 2014 and analyzed using SPSS/PC Win 12.0 program.
Results: The major findings were as follows, the mean scores of self control, parents's psychological control, and smart
phone addiction were 67.94, 32.62, and 35.01. Self control, parents' psychological control, and smart phone addiction of
subjects significantly differed according to smart phone usage period and smart phone usage time. Self control and parents's
psychological control, self control and smart phone addiction showed significant negative relationship, meanwhile
parents's psychological control and smart phone addiction showed significant positive relationship. The significant predictors
of smart phone addiction were self control, smart phone usage time. and parents' psychological control(21.2%).
Conclusion: We should develop program to promote self-control of girls' high school students and the smart phone addiction
of girls' high school students will be reduced.
