Today, along with increase in family pathological problems, due to changes in cognition of people, the
social need for family counseling is growing gradually. Especially, execution of Healthy Family Act in 2005
and Multi-Cultural Family Support Act in 2008 have established delivery system for family counseling
service as well as greatly increased the demand for family counseling service. What is more, family
counseling approach in terms of handling social problems is becoming intensified. Therefore, this research
tries to make improvements in curriculum on family counseling around healthy family specialist providing
family counseling work at Healthy Family Support Center.
First of all, it compares and analyzes educational curriculum in graduate schools with family counseling
related majors to find out common subjects. Secondly, this research explored subjects related to obtaining
of family counselor in family counseling related organizations. Thirdly, it studied subjects around
qualification, role, and job of family counselors at Healthy Family Support Center. Through this, it makes
suggestions on recommended subjects to be completed by family counselors. It also develops and suggests
subjects that have to be additionally included in revising and establishing healthy family specialist certificate
to activate family counseling business and to increase professionalism of family counselors. This research is
for making improvement in curriculum of family counselors at Healthy Family Support center and it can
be used as base data for standardized research of site-oriented family counseling curriculum. What is more,
it is also expected to devote to the growth of family support business at Health Family Support Center
and to the professionalism of family counselors.
