본 연구는 타 장애에 비해 상대적으로 사회적 편견과 차별에 더 많이 노출되 어 있는 정신장애가 사회적 배제를 심화시키는 요인으로 작용하는지 규명하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있으며, 이를 위해 2014년 장애인실태조사를 분석자료로 하 여 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과 경제, 정치, 문화, 관계망 배제 등 모든 사회적 배제의 영역에서 정 신장애가 사회적 배제를 심화시키는 요인으로 작용하고 있었으며, 사회적 배제 영역별 점수를 모두 합한 총합적 사회적 배제에도 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으 로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과에 비추어 볼 때, 정신장애인의 사회적 배제를 완화하기 위한 적극적 사회 통합 정책 마련의 시급성이 요구되며, 또한 장애인의 사회 통합을 위한 제도 개선시 정신장애의 특성 등 장애 유형에 대한 고려가 요청된다. 특히 정신장애인에 대한 사회 통합을 위해 우선적으로 역점을 두어야 할 분야는 단연 취업지원이라고 할 수 있는데, 이는 취업 여부가 경제적 배제를 결정할 뿐만 아 니라, 다차원적 성격을 지니는 사회적 배제에서 경제적 배제가 정치, 문화, 관계 망 등에 우선하는 배제의 시작점으로 작용하는 것으로 추정되기 때문이다.
The goal of this study is to identify mental disorders that are exposed more to the discrimination and the relatively social prejudice compared to other disabilities to act as a factor to deepen the social exclusion of people with disabilities. To accomplish this goal, the authors used data of National survey on lives and needs of people with disabilities in 2014 and carried out an multiple regression analysis. As a result of the analysis, in economy, politics, culture, and relationship network exclusion and total sum of social exclusion also mental disorder was found to adversely affect the social exclusion. The results of these studies implies that improving social integration policy prepared to mitigate the social exclusion of persons with mental disabilities. Particularly employment support to make person with mental disabilities get a job should be placed on a priority for social integration for them. That is because a job is not only to determine the economic exclusion and it is estimated to be act as the starting point of other social exclusion such as the political, cultural and relationship network exclusion.
