This study recognized each soldier’s differences in MMPI-2 scale according to visit
routes of the military social worker. 78 soldiers of ROKAF the 18th fighter wing were
divided into 27 adaptive soldiers and 24 voluntary, 27 involuntary counselling group.
Collected datum from January 2015 to March 2016 were used, and MMPI-2 scale
differences among 3 groups were checked by comparing them with One-Way Anova. As
research results, there were significant differences in F, K, S scale between adaptive
soldier group and maladaptive one regarding its validity, but significant differences
appeared in D, Pt, Sc, Si scale between adaptive soldier group and maladaptive one in
the clinical scale. However, Si scale of voluntary soldier group was low compared to
involuntary one, even though they were maladaptive soldier group. In addition, RC and
PSY-5 were analyzed, and there were significant differences of RCd, Rc1 , Rc2, Rc3, Rc6,
Rc7, Rc8 scale in relation with RC, and also significant differences were displayed from
RCd and Rc7 only in voluntary, involuntary counselling group. Regarding PSY-5, PSYC,
NEGE, INTR scale showed significant differences between adaptive group and
maladaptive one, and differences between voluntary counselling group and involuntary
one were not found out.
This study suggested evidences to soldiers who needed helps in the military unit by
looking into characteristic differences between adaptive soldier group and maladaptive
one, and provided a basis about feature of soldiers to whom aids should be given from
executive group or peer one first by clarifying characteristics of involuntary counselling
group among maladaptive soldier group. Finally, implications of research results, its limits, and forthcoming researches were discussed.
