This study is to examine the effects of crafts activity group art therapy
program using clay on the self-esteem of ADHD child.
The subjects were 8 children, who were diagnosed as ADHD in health
center, A city. Four of them were assigned to experimental group and the other
four were control group, respectively. This program was carried out from April 2,
2016 to May 14, 2016, six sessions once a week , 60 minutes per session.
To confirm the effect on the self-esteem, paired T-test was conducted by
comparing pre-and post- T-score variations of self-esteem scales. And to verify the
effects of the crafts activity group art therapy program HTP test was conducted
and analyze before and after the program. Qualitative analysis was also conducted
by using observation items of self-esteem during the group art therapy.
The results in this study are as follows. First, it was found out that the
crafts activity group art therapy program is effective on the improvement of
ADHD child’ self-esteem.
Second, the crafts activity group art therapy program utilizing clay led to
changes in the pre-and post-HTP test. Thrid, it was confirmed that the crafts
activity group art therapy program is effective on the improvement of ADHD
child’ self-esteem through the observation items every session.
