The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of academic self-efficacy and father' and mother's
involvement in education perceived by middle school students to school adjustment. The subjects were 280
middle school students (147 boys, 130 girls and 3 no answer) selected from three middle schools in Seoul
area. Academic self-efficacy scale, parental involvement in education scale and school adjustment scale for
students were used. In analyzing data, this study used SPSS statistics program 19.0 and statistical methods
such as correlation analysis, simple linear regression, and multiple regressions. The main results are as
follows that first; there were positive relationship between academic self-efficacy, parental involvement in
education and school adjustment. Second, effect of academic self-efficacy was in relationship school
adjustment. Third, effect of parental involvement in education was in relationship school adjustment. Forth,
effect of academic self-efficacy and father's involvement was in relationship school adjustment. But mother's
involvement was not in relationship. It was discussed to develop and manage school adjustment for
students and father's involvement in education, and parent education and counseling effectively for
adolescent.
