The purpose of this study is to analyze factors influencing teacher efficacy such as
knowledge, skill and attitude level using hierarchical regression model to the data of Korea
Education Longitudinal Study.
The result of this study is that factors explain 38.2% of teacher efficacy meaningfully.
Especially the most influencing variables are the skill level factors, e.g. teaching method,
years of teacher experience. The next things are attitude level factors, e.g. self-esteem and
pride, consideration and encouragement for students. And knowledge level factor, level of
education, is not significant statistically.
This result suggests that when teachers develope their competency personally, teacher
efficacy will also be developed simultaneously. And if a institute for teachers develop
subjects on attitude level, e.g. self-esteem and pride, consideration and encouragement for
students, teacher efficacy and quality of education will be improved.
