This study aimed to examine whether ego-resilience and social support had mediating effects on life
stress and adaption to university life in university students majoring in art therapy. Subjects comprised 335
students majoring in art therapy at universities in Gyeongsangdo and Jeollado Provinces. We used life stress
of university student scale, ego-resilience scale, social support scale, and adjustment to university life scale.
We used one-way analysis of variance(ANOVA), Scheffe-test correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis
and Sobel test to analyze data. The following results were obtained. First, student life stress of university
was negatively correlated with ego-resilience, social support, and adaptation to university life, whereas
ego-resilience and social support were positively correlated with adaptation to university life. Second,
ego-resilience and social support had partially mediating effects on life stress and adaptation to university
life. Based on the above results, we confirmed that students can better cope with life stress if ego-resilience and social support are improved.
