이 연구는 헤겔이 주장했던 ‘예술의 종말’이란 명제의 의미를 고찰해 보 는 것에 있다. 최고 규정으로서의 정신이 헤겔의 시대에 자리를 잡게 됨으로써 헤 겔은 예술을 이미 지나가 버린 ‘과거의 것’으로 규정한다. 헤겔은 ‘사유의 사유’의 형태를 띤 철학만이 오로지 진리를 추구 할 수 있는 유일한 길이라 주장한다. 헤겔 은 예술이 종교와 철학과 함께 절대정신의 반영임은 분명하지만, 그것의 형식이 직 관에 결부되어 있기 때문에 필연적으로 종말에 이를 수밖에 없다고 주장한다. 하지 만 ‘예술의 종말’의 명제의 이면을 살펴보면, 진정한 의미로서의 ‘이성의 진보’와 현재에도 지속되고 있는 ‘사유의 생성’이 존재함을 확인 할 수 있다. 그 같은 이유 는 헤겔의 ‘현실’(Wirklichkeit) 개념에서 찾을 수 있다. ‘현실’은 단순한 현재성을 넘어서 자기실현태의 절대적 의미를 지닌다. 하지만 그 같은 ‘현실’은 인간의 자기 의식에 대한 자각과 그에 따른 역사성을 통해서 구현된다. 이와 같은 이성 진보의 결과가 ‘예술의 종말’인 것이다. 이와 같은 ‘현실’ 개념은 헤겔 철학에서 이성의 능 동적 활동에 기인한다. 그렇게 함으로 인해서 헤겔은 예술과 예술에 대한 수용관계 를 주관적 판단에 따른 내감의 형식으로 귀속시키지 않고, 능동적 의미 추구로 나 아갔다는 점이다. 그 결과의 산물이 ‘예술의 종말’인 것이다. ‘예술의 종말’이란 다 소 논쟁적인 명제의 이면에는 철저히 ‘현실’에 기반을 둔 헤겔의 신중한 사유가 존 재한다는 점이다.
The purpose of this article is to examine the real meaning of ‘End of Art’ that Hegel argued about aesthetics. The mind, for the highest regulation, is defined in time of Hegel. Hegel regulates the art the past. Such as above Hegel’s thought makes a lot of criticism. Hegel insists that the philosophy that shows ‘Thinking of Thinking’ is the only way to achieve the True. Hegel claims that Art, Religion, and Philosophy reflect the Absolute Spirit, but in the case of Art, it can’t help downfalling because Its form related with intuition. However we examine the hidden side of thesis of ‘End of Art’, We can confirm that there are ‘Progress of Reason’ and ‘Generate of Thinking’ in the ‘End of the Art’. The reason why we can thinking of that inference is to find the ‘Actuality’(Wirklichkeit) that Hegel argued about. ‘Actuality’ is not same concept of simple meaning of ‘Nowness’ and it exceeds the Nowness and it has the absolute meaning of the form of realization. The Actuality can be realized by recognizing the self consciousness of human mind and historicity. The consequence of this progress of reason is ‘End of Art’. The concept of the Actuality results from the performance that reason conducts the study actively in the philosophy of Hegel. Thereby Hegel can’t belong to the relation between art and acceptance of art to the judgment of subjectivity and he progresses the pursuit of the meaning actively. The product of that result is ‘End of Art’. ‘End of Art’, the controversial thesis, is to have the careful thinking of Hegel in the hidden side of thesis.
