본 연구의 목적은 가족상담사들이 부부와 가족을 만나는 상담의 현장에서 윤리적 이슈와 관련하여 어떠한 경험을 하고 있는지 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 위해 Giorgi의 현상학적 연구방법을 적용하여 한국 가족치료학회의 부부가족상담전문가 1급 자격증을 보유하고 있는 8명의 참여자와 심층면담을 진행하 였다. 연구결과 45개의 의미단위와 18개의 하위구성요소와 5개의 구성요소를 도출하였다. 구성요소는 ‘윤리적 이슈를 경험했던 사례들’, ‘윤리적 이슈를 경험했을 때의 상담사로서의 경험’, ‘윤리적 이슈에 대한 대처’, ‘윤리적 이슈를 대처하면서 상담사로서의 경험’, ‘윤리적 이슈와 관련된 상담사가 지닌 윤 리적 가치관’이다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 가족상담사들의 윤리적 이슈 경험과 관련된 논의를 하였고 연구의 의의와 한계 및 후속연구에 관하여 제언하였다. 본 연구의 의의는 가족상담사들의 윤리적 이 슈와 관련된 경험의 본질과 의미를 이해함으로, 향후 가족상담 영역에서 윤리와 관련하여 실질적인 논의가 이루어지는 데에 기초자료를 제공하고자 하는 것이다.
Objectives: This qualitative study explored the counseling experience of family counselors dealing with ethical issues. Eight family counselors with a Korean Association of Family Therapy “First-Class” license participated. Methods: The researchers utilized Giorgi's phenomenological methodology to delve into the essence of the the counselors’ experience with ethical issues. Each participant was interviewed once for at least 60 minutes. The interviews were recorded, transcribed verbatim, and then underwent four levels of analysis. Results: The researchers distinguished 45 textures, 18 structures, and five essences within the experience of counselors dealing with ethical issues. The five essences included a) cases whereby the counselor experienced ethical issues; b) family counselors’ experiences when ethical issues occur; c) family counselors’ coping with ethical issues d) family counselor’s experiences in dealing with ethical issues; and e) family counselor's own ethical values. Conclusions: The study demonstrates the need to address ethical issues in the family counseling more fully, as well as the necessity of providing skills that assist in counseling.
