There is no one to cast doubt on the necessity and importance of the energy-saving and the
climate change’s seriousness. But it has been the problem that students take a perfunctory participation and
have a weak practice will. The object of this study in connection with the energy-saving research school
team is to apply and complement the alternative by analysis and evaluation of the 1st year’s main programs.
and it is to raise students’ awareness through climate change lesson connecting with school curriculum. For
this objective, retest-posttest designing and analysis of energy usage of the students was performed by
targeting 100 6th grade students being distributed in 4 classes of this school. its result is as follows. First,
program satisfaction was high because development of the making-together program and the revised
supplementary materials, through process of pre-applying and communication, was put back into the second
year research and the results were useful and satisfactory. Second, based on climate change lesson in relation
with curriculum, teacher could teach about right attitude and understanding of energy using and raise
students’ awareness on climate change. Third, usage of school electricity is reduced to 7.5%, compared to
2015 year and saved 4,870 thousands won. But, at home, differing from the students’ awareness, usage of
electricity went up by 4.7%. Even though students understand the need of energy-saving and go up the
awareness on climate changes, we can’t expect the tangible achievements in a short time. For successful
movement, it needs continuing education and the responsibility as energy keeper. So energy saving movement,
with people’s changing perception of energy, can be successful by continuous energy education and the
patience about tangible results.
