The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of expression activities based on the multiple intelligence theory on the rhythm expression ability of the elementary students. For the research, I constituted a teaching and learning method community which is a new paradigm for the educational method. With this teachers’ community, we, together, developed a detailed expression activity program based on the multiple intelligence theory in order to discuss various problems of rhythm express activities for the elementary students and to involve the teachers directly in the problem solving process. During the process, a teacher in the teaching and learning method community selected 63 4th grade students in Gwang-ju area that she was teaching, and implemented the expression activity program for eight weeks. And for the control group, 60 students from the same school were selected and we implemented the program in the current textbook. The test results show that the average rhythm expression ability of the experimental group students is higher than that of the control group students through the enjoyment factor. And, there are the positive influence upon the sub-factors of dance course enjoyment which are esthetic expression experience, self-confidence, satisfaction and the sprit of team work.
