The purpose of this study was to identify the relationships between Internet game addiction, obesity and
exercise of children in Korean and United States. The survey was conducted with 162 elementary 3rd~6th
grade students in S city, Republic of Korea and 160 Korean school 3rd~6th grade students in B city,
United States. Data were collected from March 3 to May 30, 2014, and analyzed using t-test, ANOVA
with SPSS 20.0. There was a significant difference in general characteristics of academic record(t=23.576,
p=.000), economic status(t=9.45, p=.012) and time of using internet game(t=11.753, p=.000). There was a
significant Internet game addiction difference according to physical characteristics of obesity, disturbance of
sleeping, time of exercise of obesity of children in Korean(F=-2.179, p=.032) and United States(F=-2.380,
p=.025), disturbance of children in Korean(F=3.283, p=.012) and time of exercise of children in United
States(F=3.57, p=.013). These results suggest that the development of exercise program is needed to
prevention and intervention of internet game addiction for children.
