The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence that participation in cultural activities has on the
level of depression and self-worth of social welfare center visitors. For this study, a survey was conducted
on visitors of social welfare centers in Seoul. The analysis was made using the SPSS program to conduct
the frequency analysis, t-test and one-way analysis of variance, correlation analysis, multiple regression
analysis, etc., and was verified with a significance level of 5%. The research results showed that, first, the
level of participation in cultural activities has a correlation with depression and wealth. Second, the level of
self-worth and participation in cultural activities has a correlation with attachment. These results showed a
higher level of depression the lower the level of participation in cultural activities, and showed a higher
level of self-worth the higher the level of participation in cultural activities. The implications of this study
are expected to become basic data for the improvement policy of the depression and self-worth of social
welfare center visitors depending on their level of participation in cultural activities.
