The purpose of this study was to identify the Effects of temperament and Parenting
Affective Attitude, social supports on the Subjective Well-Being of middle school students.
The subjects were 358 male and female middle school students in Gwang-ju, Korea. The
instrument used for this study were the Inventory of Junior Temperament & Character (JTCI),
and Korean Subjective Well-Being Scale(K-SWBS). Correlation analysis and regression
analysis were completed on the data. The research method used SPSS 21. The major results
of this study were as follows. Harm Avoidance temperament had a negative influence on
overall well-being and emotional, psychological and social well-beings. Persistence and
Parenting Affective Attitude had a positive influence on overall well-being and emotional,
psychological and social well-beings. In addition, a teacher’sl support had a positive influence
on social well-being. The results for effects of Parenting Affective Attitude and Persistence
on student’s subjective well-being highlight. The study contributes to the literature by
providing fundamental insights into middle school student's higher quality of life.
