The purpose of this study is to clarify the contents of the studies by Korean
researchers in Japan, including international students. Therefore, the studies
published by Korean researchers in J apanese institutes are analyzed.
The object of this study is the studies pub1ished in the past five years (1 998 - 2002)
by Korean researchers in four institutes related to early childhood care and
p8ychology, i.e. Japan Society of Research on Early Childhood Care and Education,
the Japanese Psychological Association, the Japanese Association of Educational
Psychology and the Japanese AS8ociation of Special Education.
This study clarified that the number of Korean researchers publishing their studies
in Japanese institutes of early childhood care and psychology are increasing every
year and it could be anticipated that it could be more active by Korean researchers in
Japanese institutes of early childhood care and psychology in the future. However,
as for their contents, it appears to be clear that, though a number of studies
introducing the actual conditions in Korea concerning their specialty and the number
of comparative studies are increasing, the number of specialized studies had not
shown a remarkable increase.
