Most university students majoring in human welfare want to find work with close
connection with people in the future. This paper reports the result of a course aimed at
deepening understanding of those students for human rights of handicapped persons,
including children, as well as at learning cooperatively as a group the method to
transfer their investigated contents to others in an easy"to"understand manner. This
course was carried out for three weeks, one lesson every week, and the students made
presentations as a group in the third lesson.
A group summarized comparison of laws established to protect rights of handicapped
persons, while another group considered the solution of the problems extracted from
the university education for handicapped people, thus every group showing resourceful
elaborations. Comments by the students after the course pointed out the necessity to
establish appropriate laws, and in addition the necessity of further understanding for
children and handicapped people by those around them.
