Ths study was aimed to investigate the effects of the Korean traditional drum play on the following instructions and greeting behaviors of the children with Autism. The purposes of the study were to investigate the effects of the traditional drum play on the following instructions and greeting behaviors of children with autism The subjects in the study were three children with autism attending a edu-care center for the children with disabilities in J city. In order to demonstrate the effects of the traditional drum play, the multiple baseline design across children was ernployed and the data for thirty four sessions were collected during the baseline, the intervention, and the maintenance phases. The traditional drum play in the study was to (1) following instructions which suggested by the investigator during preparation of drum, greeting with drum playing, learning the rhythm, drum-percussion, greeting with drum playing, and arrangement of drum, (2) greeting behaviors which suggest어 by this investigator during performing the greeting gestures and speech of greeting. The rate of achievement on following instructions and greeting behaviors collected based on the frequency measures by this investigator and co-investigator. The results of the study were as follows. First, the intervention improved in the children's following instructions: preparation of drum, greeting with drum playing, learning the rhythm, drum-percussion, greeting with drum playing, and arrangem라lt of drum Seconcl, the children's greeting behaviors speech were improved by the outcome of the rhythm of drum. Ths results indicated that it was needed more positive supports of intervention for improving thier social interactions and functional body movements of the autistic children who were experienced in deficiency of sociality and interpersonal relationships, compare to the previous studies.
