In this research, we analyzed the content of 4 picture books (I Japanese book and 3 translat ed books) published in this country for communicating children about th eir parents’ cancer, and clarified whether they can be effective materials for parents with cancer to communicate with their‘ children about their cancer‘ All of the picture books included that "cancer is not contagious ", ‘I will not die ", and "it is not your fault that I got cancer" which are necessary information for children to recognize cancer appropriately, so we found out that they can be effective materials .
