This study intended to identify how home-based reading picture books activity to
children affect their interest in reading and their social and emotional development
Results of applying the experiment to 20 subjects from U Annexed Kindergarten
located in G metropolitan city are as follows. First, points for interest in reading
significantly increased for experimental group who conducted home-based reading
picture books activity than the control group. Secondly, points for socio- emotional
development signjficantly increased for experimenta! group who conducted
home-based reading picture books activity than the control group.
