The purpose of this study was to investigate of female teacher’s recognition on the male teacher’s job
performance ability in kindergartens and day care centers. The analysis of female teachers' the recognition
that early childhood education is a field of women, male infant teachers as a profession, and the job performance ability in the early childhood education institutions.
Among the teachers(principal, vice-principal, teacher) working in kindergartens and daycare centers in
Chungcheongbuk-do, 210 were surveyed by institution type(kindergarten, daycare center, forest kindergarten,
forest daycare center). Conclusions were drawn based on the results.
First, acceptance and recognition of male classroom teachers are positive. Female teachers are positive
about accepting male teachers as a classroom teacher because they can get help in natural education about
gender equality, physical activities and outdoor activities, and guidance for male children. It is expected that
physiological power is required in early childhood education institutions, computer and machine
management, physical development of early childhoods and guidance of children are important roles for
early childhood education teachers.
Second, female teachers perceive that male teachers and female teachers are generally similar in terms of
job performance ability, but female teachers who have worked with male teachers are more likely We are
more aware of this. The ability to handle and use audiovisual equipment including computers, the ability to
manage life for male children, the ability to manage events such as picnics and athletic events, the ability
to present opinions and actively make decisions at teacher meetings, The ability of male early childhood
teachers to perform their duties is higher in activities, outdoor activities, and communication skills.
