This study was conducted to understand the relationship between pediatric nurses’ empowerment,
Emotional Larbor and partnership with child patients’ parents. In addition, we aimed to provide basic data
for improving pediatric nurses' adatation to tasks and their partnership with child patients' parents. Data
collection was conducted in 7 institutes, including general hospitals, university hospitals, and the division of
pediatrics of the children's hospitals located in D and C cities among 142 pediatric nurses between July 2016 and September 2016. Data collecttion was conducted in data were analyzed t-test, ANOVA, Pearson
correlation coefficient, multiple regression analysis by using the SPSS 23.0 program. According to the
study, among the factors that affected the pediatric nurses’ partnership with the child patients’ parents,
empowerment, work history in pediatrics, and deep acting had positive effects on their partnership with
child patients’ parents, whereas the number of child patients they care for on duty had negative effects.
Especially the factor that had the most effect on the partnership was empowerment(β=.537, p<.001).
Therefore, various interventions must be explored to improve pediatric nurses' partnership with child
patients' parents.
