The purpose of this study was to verify the effect of a parent-child interaction art therapy program on
the improvement of the parents-children interaction. The subjects of this study were three couples of
children and their mothers having difficulty in the parent-child interaction among the social service targets
at G Laboratory in A City. The parent-child interaction art therapy program was carried out once a week,
for a total of 10 sessions, and the inter-subject multiple baseline design was used. The program was
constituted by modifying and complementing in accordance with these subjects based on the parent-child
relationship therapy and the parent-child relationship art therapy, and the parent-child interaction art
therapy program was constituted through a feasibility review by three supervisors and art therapists. When
it comes to the data processing, first, the changes of the parental interaction and child interaction by
sessions were observed and measured according to the parent-child interaction coding system(DPICS) to
compare the baseline, arbitration, and maintenance with one another. Second, the result of observing the
parent-child interaction by sessions with respect to the parent-child art therapy activity from session 2 to
session 9 was analyzed and described. As a result of the study, it was shown that the interaction between
parents and children, the subjects, was improved, and the effect continued in the future.
