본 연구는 사회의 변화와 혁신을 선도하는 미래의 교육리더십을 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 교육과 사회의 관계, 변화관리와 혁신의 의미, 교육리더십의 개념 변화를 중심으로 교육리더십을 비판적으로 논의하였다. 연구결과, 지금까지의 교육리더십은 미래사회의 변화에 적응하는 방식으로 접근하였고, 혁신이 아닌 변화관리 수준에 머물렀으며, 변화된 교육리더십 개념을 실제에 적용하는데 미흡 하였다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로, 사회의 변화와 혁신을 선도하기 위한 미래의 교육 리더십은 합의된 교육이념의 창출, 사회구성원의 인식 전환, 혁신적인 제도 개발, 공동 실천을 위해 노력하고, 이를 위해서 개념적, 혁명적, 계몽적 성격을 지향해야 함을 제 안하였다.
The purpose of this study is to explore the future educational leadership for social changes and innovations. This study reviewed the relationship between education and social change, made clear the difference between change management and innovation, and argued the new concept of educational leadership. The major findings of this study are as follows: 1) educational leadership made an effort to adopt to an coming future, 2) educational leadership remained on the fringe of the change management, 3) new concept of educational leadership did not apply to the educational practice. As a result, this study suggested a model for the future educational leadership i.e., redefinition of educational ideology, awareness raising on educational ideology, innovative development of educational system, and collaborative fulfillment based on the conceptual leadership, evolutionary leadership, and enlightening leadership.
