본 연구는 연구동향 분석을 통하여 음악창의성에 관한 학문적 접근 방식 고찰을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위하여 2001 년부터 2015년까지 국제전문 음악학 학술지에 수록된 음악창의성 논문을 학술지, 연구 대상, 연구 방법, 연구 영역의 범주에 서 분석하였으며, 결과는 다음과 같았다. 첫째, 분석 대상 논문은 총 106편이었으며, 기간에 따른 양적 증가 추세를 보였다. 이 논문들은 총 25종의 음악학 전문 학술지에 수록되어 있었으며, 5개의 학술지에 과반수의 논문이 수록되어 음악창의성 연 구가 특정 학술지를 중심으로 이루어졌음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 음악가를 대상으로 한 연구가 전체 연구의 30.2%로 가장 높 게 나타나 전문가의 음악활동을 중심으로 한 음악창의성 연구 비중이 높은 것을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 질적연구가 43.4%로 가 장 활발히 사용되는 연구 방법으로 밝혀졌다. 22.6%를 차지한 양적연구의 경우도 기술연구가 대부분이었다. 넷째, 연구 영 역 분석 결과 음악창의성 연구는 음악교육학(44.3%)과 음악심리학(26.4%)의 두 영역을 중심으로 이루어지는 것으로 나타났다.
The purpose of this study is to explore academic approaches to music creativity by analyzing the current issues and trends of music creativity research. Articles in eminent international journals from 2001 to 2015 were analyzed in terms of the journals’categories, research subjects, research methods, and research areas. The major findings are as follows: First, a total of 106 studies about music creativity were selected. They were included in 25 of the 70 most eminent scholarly journals and half of the articles were included in five journals, suggesting that research on music creativity appeared only in certain specific journals. Second, regarding the research subjects, 30.2% of the articles focused on musicians. Third, qualitative methods were the most commonly used approach (43.4%), followed by literature studies. In the case of quantitative research, which accounted for 22.6% of all studies, descriptive studies were most common. Fourth, regarding research areas, music creativity research centered on the areas of music education (44.3%) and music psychology (26.4%).
