Currently, the accumulated spent fuel in domestic nuclear power plants is expected to reach the saturation point of storage facilities starting from Wolsong nuclear power plant. Accordingly, there is a need to establish a policy and an action plan for the final disposal of spent nuclear fuel as soon as possible. This paper describes treatment method according to management policy and the status of disposal of high-level waste in foreign advanced countries and domestic and overseas.
