본 연구는 2016년 말을 기점으로 대한민국에서 일어난 대규모 집회를 인터넷상의 시민을 통해 바 라본다. 또, 이번 대규모 집회를 생소하고 이례적인 것으로 보도한 일본 미디어의 반응이 어떠한 배 경에서 기인하였는가도 탐색적으로 분석한다. 이를 통해 2000년대 초반이라는 비슷한 시기에 온라인 시민저널리즘을 도입했지만, 10여 년 후 다 른 결과를 보여 준 한국과 일본의 과거, 즉 어떻게 온라인 시민저널리즘이 한일에 도입되었으며 당시 양국의 인터넷 토양은 어떠했는가 파악할 수 있다. 또한 온라인 시민저널리즘 도입 10여 년이 흐른 현재의 한일의 양상을 비교해볼 수 있다. 더불어, 소셜미디어와 스마트폰 보급 등 새로운 웹 환경에 서 미래의 시민저널리즘은 어디로 향해야 하는가를 조망해 볼 수 있다. 본 연구는 오마이뉴스와 오마이뉴스 재팬, JanJan 등 한국과 일본에서 온라인 시민저널리즘을 직접 도입한 핵심 관계자를 인터뷰했으며, 관련 데이터와 통계 자료 등을 논의 전개를 위한 분석에 사용했 다.
The term of online citizen journalism in S.Korea and Japan has been around since the early 2000s and it has been changing the field of news making and the concept of news . Questions such as 'who makes news?', 'what is news?' or 'who delivers news?' has been always around the journalism field since the beginning of this participation of citizens in making news. This has been changing the definition of news in S.Korea and Japan. This research is focusing on the protests in S.Korea over president impeachment erupted in 2016. While concentrating on the citizens on the Internet and the protesters in Korea, this research also analyzes why some Japanese mass media reported this event as an exceptional case. This research focuses on Korea and japan because those two countries introduced online citizen journalism around the similar time since the early 2000s and showed very different results. The past, present and the future of the online citizen journalism in Korea and Japan can be analyzed through case in 2016. This research interviewed people who brought the online citizen journalism in Korea and Japan for the first time in the early 2000s and published the public newspaper websites such as Oh My News or JanJan.
