The purpose of this study was to research the recognition of music therapists on the
current conditions of the Arts and Culture Education and to suggest a basis material for
expanding new areas of music therapy in the future. The subjects of this study were
152 who have the certification authorized from music therapy association. The findings
were as follows: First of all, with the result of recognition of the Arts and Culture
Education, the 75.7 percent of the respondents said that they have heard about the Arts
and Culture Education and the route to get the information is found to have the largest
number of acquaintances. Second, music therapists who have experienced the Arts and
Culture Education accounts for 40 percent of the total and 54 percent of them
participated in the after-school programs. Experienced music therapists answered the
primary priority for contributing function is the emotional development, the psychological
well-being, the enhancement of social and interpersonal relationship. And, it was
answered that music therapy was effective for teenagers, developmental disorders,
vulnerable classes, elderly people and the dementia. Also, the importance of the Arts and
Culture Education in the future will be increases, and the need to expand the area of
music therapy will be broadened. However, the vitalization level of music therapy is low,
and the cause for this is on a lack of social awareness. Third, with the analysis of
development of music therapy for the revitalization in the Arts and Culture Education,
there was such a lot of need to support for musical instruments and programs
development for various subjects. The most important qualification of music therapist
who works in the field of this is the confidence about the influence of music therapy
and expectations for job creation were the highest in all the items.
