This Study aims to examine the effect on middle-aged couple successful aging of their intimacy and
verify the mediating relations of self-reflection. The subjects for this research were 675 middle-aged people,
aged 40∼59 years, which is located in Gwangju City and Jeonnam Do. For the statistical analysis, the
SPSS 21.0 and Amos 21.0 program was utilized. The results of this research are as the following: Firstly,
as a result of the correlation analysis of the middle-aged couple intimacy, the self-reflection, and the
successful aging perception, all of these showed correlations. And, they showed significant correlations
statistically. Secondly, in order to take a look at the influences on the successful aging perception of the
middle aged, and, as a result of analyzing the intimacy, and the self - reflection of the couple with
independent variables, all of them showed significance. Thirdly, as a result of the analysis in terms of the
relationship between the intimacy of middle-aged couple and successful aging perception, it was proven
that self-reflection plays the role as a mediated factor. Based on the results of the study, theoretical
implications and practical implications are suggested.
