북한 연구는 2000년을 전후로 대내외적으로 학술적인 관심이 증대하고 연구 주제도 정치, 경제, 군사 등에서 점차 문화, 여성, 종교, 교육 등의 사회적인 주제로 확대되고 있다. 특히 북한관련 교육 분야 의 연구는 북한의 교육 현황과 교육체제, 탈북자 대상 교육 프로그램을 중심으로 다양한 논문이 나오 고 있지만, 북한의 특수성과 실제 다루어야 할 평생교육적 본질을 제대로 접근하지 못하고 있다. 따라 서 본 연구의 목적은 북한관련 교육 분야 연구의 동향을 분석함으로써 현(現) 북한연구의 문제점을 제 기하고, 앞으로 교육 분야에서의 북한 연구의 평생교육학적 과제와 새로운 접근법을 모색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 먼저 북한 연구의 시대 구분을 위한 기준을 마련하기 위해 거시적 관점에서 국내외 역사적 흐름과 정부별 북한 대응정책, 북한학의 동향 등을 종합적으로 검토하였다. 또한, 북한관련 교육 분야 연구의 동향분석을 위해 한국교육학술정보원의 학술지, 박사학위, 연구보고서를 수집하여 총 676편 중 최종적으로 180편을 선별하여 시대별 동향 분석을 하였다. 동향 분석은 연구 시기, 연구 유형 및 연구 목적, 연구대상, 연구 대상 기관, 연구주제, 연구방법, 발행기관을 기준으로 삼았다. 분석 결과 첫째, 북한관련 교육 분야의 연구는 정부 정책에 따라 많은 영향을 받았다. 둘째, 탈북자 대상 교육에 관한 연구의 확대와 지속적인 검증이 요구된다. 셋째, 북한관련 교육 분야의 연구 주제에 있어 평생교 육적 측면의 확대가 요구된다. 넷째, 북한교육 연구자의 다양화와 역량 개발이 요구된다. 이와 같은 결론을 토대로 향후 객관적인 관점의 기존 연구의 재해석, 정부와 민간이 함께 다학문적 접근으로 학 제 간 연구로 확대할 필요, 평생교육 측면에서 탈북청소년과 탈북여성을 대상으로 지속적이고 깊이있 는 논의를 과제로 제시하였다.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the trends of North Korea - related educational research and raise the problems of North Korea's research, and to explore new approaches and lifelong education problems in North Korea's education in the future. In order to establish the criteria for the division of the period of North Korean study, we reviewed the historical trends from the macro perspective, domestic and overseas historical trends, policies for North Korean response by government, and trends of North Korean studies. In order to analyze the trends of research on education related to North Korea, we collected journals, doctoral degrees and research reports from the Korean Educational and Scientific Information Service and selected 180 out of a total of 676 subjects. Trend analysis was based on research time, type of research, purpose of research, subject, subject of research, subject, method of research, and issuing institution. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, research on North Korean education has been influenced by government policies. Second, it is necessary to expand the study on education for North Korean refugees and to conduct continuous verification. Third, it is necessary to expand the lifelong educational aspects of research topics in North Korean education. Fourth, diversification and capacity development of North Korean educational researchers are required.
