This study aims to understand the meaning of the lived group art therapy experience
of single intern therapists from the art therapy master's program and how it is meant
to their development process as art therapist.. The 16 participants have experienced
in more than 12 sessions of group art therapy as a single therapist. and the data
collected from July 2015 to November 2015 were analyzed for this study. Twelve
essential topics and thirty-seven sub topics were drawn in total. And the conclusions
are as follows. First, since the intern students enrolled in art therapy master's
program are lack of experiences and understanding in practical training and take the
group art therapy on their own without considering the need for assistant art
therapist, they have difficulty. Second, through the group art therapy run by on their
own, the intern students enrolled in art therapy master's program reel difficulty and
realize the importance of solidarity with co-therapist from the co-therapy setting.
Third, getting supervision professionalism, the intern students enrolled in art therapy
master's program understand character of the types of art therapy and specific type
of clients so realize their own's therapeutic direction. Fourth, by running the group
art therapy and achieving termination of the session by themselves with sense of
responsibility, the intern students enrolled in art therapy master' program realize that
the experience give a meaning of growth.
