초등학교 교사들은 전과목을 가르친다. 과학을 많이 배울 수 없는 교육대학교 환경에서 초등 예비 교사들은 진화에 대해 제대로 학습할 기회가 많지 않다. 비전문가들의 진화에 대한 논란이 점점 많 아지는 추세 가운데, 이미 확립된 현대 진화 설명 체계를 교사들에게 전달할 필요가 있다. 초등 예비 교사들이 과학에 대한 소양이 부족한 현 상황에서 굴드의 저서 ‘다윈 이후’는 현대 진화 설명 체 계를 학습하기에 적합한 저작물이다. 추후 연구를 통해 보다 상세한 전략이 연구될 필요가 있다.
Elementary school teachers instruct all subjects. As minimum science contents were learned in university curriculum, elementary school teachers have little opportunity to learn about evolution. There is a need to communicate to the teachers the modern evolving explanatory system established in the increasingly controversial debate about the evolution of non-specialists. Gould's book "After Darwin" is a work that is suitable for learning modern evolutionary explanation system in the present situation where pre-service elementary school teachers are lacking with science literacy. More detailed strategies need to be gathered through further studies.
