The aim of this paper is to examines the crisis of democracy originated from the extension of capitalism in global level and the permeation of capitalism into each spheres of society, and to suggests the civic education approaches for dealing with the crisis of democracy. The discussion results can be summarized as follows. In nowadays, capitalism is eroding democracy at the three levels. First, in personality level, capitalism is undermining the foundation of democracy by infusing people’s mind with motive for endless profit, enjoyment, egoism, negative liberty, simple equality, fragmented thinking, reification. Second, in the society-state level, spreading logic of capital into each spheres of society, capitalism distorts the logics and justices of spheres of society and make spheres of society to be supporter or partner of capital. Third, in global level, working globally beyond the democratic control of states, capitalism enforce each state to adopt logic of capital and diminish the public sphere. The civic education approaches for struggling against these capitalism are as follows. First, we need to teach student firmly the values of democracy-human dignity, master spirit, liberty, equality, solidarity etc. Second, we need to teach each logics & justices of spheres of society and integrative social scientific thinking so that we could protect the logics & justices of spheres of society from the logic of capital and see through the working of capital beyond spheres of society. Third, we need to teach student about global consciousness and global system so that they could read the global flows of capital. And we need to imagine how global democracy is possible and discuss it with student.
