We performed a microbiologic analysis of peri-implant sulcus exudates from the patients with peri-implantitis and got
the following results.
1. Gram positive microorganism such as streptococcus and gram negative microorganism such as Klebsiella
pneumoniae were observed from the aerobic culture.
2. In the antibiotic sensitivity test, cephalosporins and vancomycin showed the high sensitivity against the cultured
microorganisms.
3. After primary therapy such as mechanical therapy and/or surgical therapy was finished, the survival of implant could
be extended as a result of periodic maintenance care.
