The purpose of this study was to understand the effects of experiences of joining
in the online community on the recognitions and behaviors of teachers. For this
purpose, FGI among special education teachers who had joined in the online
community were conducted. 4 themes and 17 sub-themes are inferred from the shared
experiences and practical ways of improvement discussed in the interview. The 4
themes includes (1) the meanings of joining in the online community, (2) the
difficulties in joining an online community, (3) the forms of joining in the online
community, (4) the improvement directions of the online community. According to the
results, the directions and possibilities of special education online community as one of
the professional groups of special education teachers in the field were discussed.
