본 논문은 사회과에서 국가시민성과 세계시민성이 지향하는 바람직한 방향을 찾을 필요가 있다는 관점에서 교과서 분석을 통하여 시사점을 도출한 후 6차시의 시민성 교육 프 로그램을 구안하여 서울시 서초구 S초등학교 6학년 1개 학급을 대상으로 적용하였다. 프로그 램 적용 전에 사전 검사를 실시하여 학생들의 국가시민성과 세계시민성을 측정하였고, 프로 그램 적용 이후 동일한 검사지를 이용하여 사후검사를 실시하였다. 검사 결과는 i-STATistic 프로그램을 활용하여 통계적으로 분석하였다. 본 연구를 통해 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫 째, 시민성 교육프로그램은 초등학생의 국가시민성과 세계시민성을 함양시키는데 긍정적인 효과를 미쳤다. 사전검사와 사후검사의 차이를 비교해보면, 국가시민성과 세계시민성의 모든 구성 요소에서 평균 점수가 상승하였다. 둘째, 시민성 교육프로그램을 통해 학생들이 국가 간의 갈등 문제를 보다 다양한 관점에서 바라보고 문제해결 방안을 찾으려는 자세를 가지기 위해 노력하고 있음을 확인하였다. 이러한 점에서 본 연구에서 구안한 시민성 교육 프로그램 이 국가 간의 갈등 문제에 내포되어 있는 글로벌적 가치를 찾는 세계 시민으로서의 자질을 함양하는데 영향을 주었다고 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 국가 간의 갈등 상황을 내포한 문제를 주제로 하는 시민성 교육 프로그램이 초등학생의 국가시민성과 세계시민성을 함양하 는데 영향을 주었다는 점에서 프로그램이 가지는 의의를 찾을 수가 있다고 하겠다.
In this paper, it is necessary to find the desirable direction of national citizenship and global citizenship in social studies. After drawing implications through analyzing textbooks, I developed the citizenship education program of 6th grade. And the program was applied to one class in S grade 6 elementary school in Seocho-gu, Seoul. Before applying the program, pre-test was conducted to measure students' citizenship and global citizenship. After applying the program, post-test was conducted using the same questionnaire. The conclusion is as follows. First, the civic education program has had a positive effect on cultivating the national citizenship and global citizenship of elementary school students. Second, through the Citizenship Education Program, students were able to look at conflicts among countries from various perspectives and try to find solutions to problems. This study can be said to have influenced the development of the qualities of citizenship education program which is a global citizen who seeks global value embedded in the conflict between countries.
