The purpose of the study was to verify the effect of Reality Therapy Group Counseling upon the decrease of
anger, anxiety and depression of the parents of school violence victims. A total of twenty parents whose children
were victimized by school violence in D-metropolitan City and K-City, Kyungbuk Province participated in the
study. They were assigned into two groups, 10 in the experiment group and 10 in the control group. A total of
8 sessions of Reality Therapy group counseling, 120 minutes each session, twice a week was implemented. The
research design employed was the pretest-posttest control group design. The instruments used were the
Spielberger’s Anger Scale and Anxiety Scale, and the Beck’s Depression Scale. The data were analyzed using the
SPSS 23.0 for means, standard deviations, and an analysis of covariance. The results of the study were as follows.
First, the Reality Therapy Group Counseling decreased significantly the parents’ anger. Second, The Reality
Therapy Group Counseling decreased significantly the parents’ anxiety. Third, the Reality Therapy Group
Counseling did not significantly decrease the parents’ depression
